SUBEB Kano Appoints Jazuli As Director Corporate Communications

The Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has appointed Balarabe Danlami Jazuli (ANIPR) as the Director of Corporate Communications, marking a significant milestone in the Board’s communication and public engagement framework.

Who is Balarabe Danlami Jazuli?

Balarabe Danlami Jazuli is a seasoned media and public relations professional with extensive experience in journalism, strategic communication, and public sector information management.

He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Hausa and Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kano in 2004. He thereafter completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Gombe State Radio and Television Corporation, where he gained practical broadcasting experience.

In 2012, he was appointed Public Relations Officer (PRO) of SUBEB Kano. While in service, he furthered his education at Bayero University, Kano, earning a Master’s Degree in Public Relations as well as a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies.

Professionally, the new Director has worked with notable media organisations as an Artists including Radio Kano, Freedom Radio Kano, and Express Radio, Abubakar Rimi Television where he served in various capacities as a Reporter, llNews Editor, and News Caster.

He also served as a Programme Presenter for the “Learning by Radio” initiative under KALMA and PLANE, contributing to innovative education delivery through broadcast media.

In addition, Balarabe Danlami Jazuli has worked as a Communication Specialist for key education programmes such as GPE/NIPEP and BESDA, supporting advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and public awareness campaigns.

Prior to his current appointment, he served as the Director of Social Mobilization at SUBEB Kano. His elevation to Director of Corporate Communications makes him the first officer to hold this position across SUBEBs nationwide, underscoring the pioneering nature of the appointment.

His appointment is expected to further strengthen SUBEB Kano’s corporate communication, media relations, and public accountability in line with global best practices.
