Kano Politics: Kofar Mata Resigns As Commissioner, Remains Loyal To Kwankwaso
Kano State Commissioner of the Ministry Of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata has reaffirmed his loyalty to Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, as he announced his resignation of his appointment.
Dr. Kofar Mata who wrote on his Facebook page, he stressed that he cannot continue to work under Governor Abba Yusuf administration, as it derailed from what he called, the ideology that brought it to power.

“Salam! I wish to categorically state that I hereby resign my appointment as the Commissioner and Member of the Kano State Executive Council. I took this decision in good faith, as I cannot continue to work under the government that derailed from the ideology that brought it to power.
“On this note, I extend my gratitude to the national leader of the NNPP, Engr. Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and the entire people who stood with us and made the journey successful. Alhamdulillah!” he said.

It can be Recall that on Friday, Abba Kabir Yusuf, announced his decision of leaving the New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP, a party that brought him to power in the year 2023.
The governor’s decision induces major shakeup in the Kano State political landscape, which also generated too much reactions from different angles.
While some consider it as a political betrayal, and a deliberate move to cause a setback to what has been built over a long period, some consider it as normal in political life.
