2027: Tinubu Secures Election Victory – Kwankwaso

Musa Iliya Kwankwaso, the Director of Finance and Administration at the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has effectively already secured victory for the upcoming 2027 election.

Kwankwaso made these remarks on Saturday during an interview on the program ‘Siyasa A Ma’auni’ (Politics on the Scale), aired on Dan Bello TV.

During the interview monitored by Daily Observer, the politician challenged the people of the North, noting that in 2023—when Tinubu selected Kashim Shettima as his running mate—they withheld their support; yet, despite this, God granted Tinubu victory.

He also took issue with prominent Northern Nigerian politician Naja’atu Bala Muhammad for her criticism of President Tinubu’s administration—specifically regarding his agenda for the Northern region.

According to him, Naja’atu who is about 70s, is merely engaging in opposition—a role in which she has demonstrated the most proficiency throughout her political career, including during previous administrations.

“It was Naja’atu and Buba Galadima who brought President Buhari into the political arena, yet they eventually turned against him and became his opponents”,  he said.

Consequently, he argued that, despite their opposition, it is as if Tinubu has already secured his re-election; meanwhile, in Kano State, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is also set to retain his seat for a second term.

Addressing the uncertainty surrounding the Kano governorship candidacy for the NDC, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, he alleged that the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, never truly wanted Aminu Gwarzo to succeed.

According to him, he would have preferred for Comrade Gwarzo to secure the nomination, as he would have been the easiest opponent for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to defeat.”
