Poet Aisha Indabawa, in a poetic style, wrote an open letter drawing the attention of Nigerian leaders, reminding them of the great promises they made to Almighty God, to protect the lives and property of the people when they sought their election.

This came at a time when a group of Kannywood Hausa Film Industry’s members honoured the invitation by the political singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara, in an organised solidarity visit to the Capital Territory Abuja, to commend the works of the Bola Tinubu’s government amidst rising insecurity in the North.

The Open Letter which was narrated in a hausa version of poetic style, Mss Indabawa was quoted;

“On this earth like this, you swore an oath by the Lord who created summer and autumn, saying that you would protect the lives of 242.4 million people.

“You swore that the citizens would be happy, and that children would not be afraid or cry. You swore that you would stand firm on issues that concern the protection of lives. You also wore that the poor and the rich would live under the same umbrella, without a doubt.

“Today, Nigerians undoubtedly believes all these promises, while our hearts beat with fear as if they were about to burst. The blood of the people is flowing without end, we have become like hunted animals, we cannot stand still, let alone stop.

“I swore by the Lord who will punish the mother who failed to save her child. I swore by the Lord who in a second destroyed the Pharaoh’s empire, drowned Karuna and his wealth, the Lord who will reward the families who lost their parents because they were not privileged.

“I swore by the Lord who breathed life into us, and will cause us to die and then resurrect us, who does not doze off, let alone to fall asleep. Who adorned the heavens with stars, and who alternates the affairs of night and day.

“The King, whom His kingdom, and His dominion have prevailed, who does not oppress and does not love oppressors, the Lord who will reward all who are oppressed.

“Of course, love is not real if people fail to tell each other the truth and commit injustice. Life is not profitable if worldly power becomes a cause of standing before God for committing crimes of injustice.

“We have cried and pleaded and begged for the only one who can bring us a solution. And this suffering that we are in will come out. But let us remember the day when God will gather the whole world in the glory and the kingdom that He alone created.

“I swear by the Lord of Muhammad (PBUH), not a single drop of injustice will pass without being held accountable.
