Kano Govt Reclaims Vehicles From Ex-Officials Loyal To Kwankwaso
The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), has commenced the process of recovering government vehicles from some former state government officials, following allegations that they refused to return them despite completing their terms of service.
TST HAUSA report that the commission’s chairman, Mr. Sa’idu Yahaya led the operation on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Yahaya said that the Office of the Secretary to the Kano State Government, had earlier sent a notification letters to the affected former officials, ordering them to return the government vehicles in their possession.

However, according to him, some of them did not comply with the order, prompting the commission to seize the vehicles in order to protect public property and ensure law and order.
Among the former commissioners whose vehicles were recovered are former Commissioner for Security, Ibrahim Umar; former Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso; former Commissioner for Science and Technology, Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata; former Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya; and former Commissioner for Special Operations, Nasiru Sule Garo.

The commission affirmed that it will continue to take all legal measures to protect government assets, while ensuring transparency and accountability in the administration of government in Kano State.
