Peter Obi, Kwankwaso Finally Joins NDC
Former Anambra governor Mr Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, along with former Kano state governor, Sen Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, have officially joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The two political figures reportedly made the decision on Sunday after meeting with the party’s leader and former Bayelsa state governor, Sen Seriake Dickson, in Abuja, where they finally announced their defection to the new opposition party.
Their formal joining the NDC comes at a time when political changes are continuing to unfold in Nigeria, especially as opposition parties seek to unite to prepare for the upcoming general elections.
This development marked another significant step forward to the battle of Nigeria’s leadership, ahead of 2027 general elections, at a time when the Tinubu’s led administration is facing criticism of incompetency, lacking in guaranteeing dividend of democracy, expecially security of lives and properties.
