Reports and analysis by the political observers indicate that, the delay in appointing new Deputy Governor is due to political turmoil and fears that, the internal conflict could affect the outcome of the 2027 elections.

In previous week it was reported that the names of two popular candidates are seen on the ground, they are Murtala Sule Garo and former secretary to the state government, Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi.

Sources revealed that the political side of the immediate past Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is eying vacant seat of the former Deputy Governor, as suitable for his former Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo.

In another hand it was also revealed that the political camp of the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin has introduced Bichi, indicating its backing on him, as the most “capable” to fill the vacant seat of Kano deputy governor.

Observers are warning that this stalemate could further complicate Governor Abba’s political career and threaten to cost him his seat in the 2027 general elections.
