The Imam of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Qasim, has called on the Muslim community to increase their fear of Allah and use the blessings of the month of Ramadan, especially the last ten days, to increase their worship and perform good deeds.

TST Hausa reported that the imam reminded the fasting people to draw closer to Allah, and fear Him with total submission, saying that the last 10 days of Ramadan may be the last days for some, without receiving such an opportunity in another year.

Sheikh Al-Qasim made this known during his Friday prayer sermon today, 17th of Ramadan 1447 AH, where he reminded thousands of worshippers who attended the prayer on the importance of fearing of Allah the Almighty (taqwa) in the life of a Muslim.

In his sermon, the imam emphasized that fear of Allah is the cornerstone of a believer’s life, as it helps a person to avoid sin and increase his efforts in performing good deeds that will bring him closer to his Creator.

He also explained that the month of Ramadan is a great opportunity that Allah has given to His servants to draw closer to Him, through increased reading of the Holy  Quran, prayers, giving charity, and staying up all night in worship (Qiyam Al-layl).

Similarly, Sheikh Al-Qasim warned those who observed fasting to avoid bad habits such as lying, cursing, and harming people, saying that such habits diminish the value and reward of fasting.
