Nigerian Army Buries Late Brigadier-General Braimah, Other Fallen Soldiers

The Nigerian Army has buried the remains of Brigadier General Oseini Omo Braimah, and other soldiers killed in an attack by Boko Haram insurgents on a military base in Borno State.

Braimah, who was the commander of the 29 Joint Task Force Brigade operating under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), was killed in an attack by Boko Haram insurgents on their base in Benisheikh, Kaga Local Government Area of ​​Borno.

In a statement on its Facebook page, the Nigerian Army said that Braimah, along with Captain Ismail and other soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, were buried today, Wednesday, April 15.

The funeral in a full military honour, was held at Maimalari Barracks in Borno State, in the presence of families and relatives of the deceased.

Among those who attended the funeral were the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, the Chief of Army Staff, General Waidi Shaibu, and many others.

Nigeria continues to face challenges from Boko Haram, which has recently intensified its attacks on military installations and civilians in the northeast of the country.

Even on Monday, the military announced the death of one of its commanders, a military Colonel, during an attack by Boko Haram militants on its troops in Monguno Local Government Area of ​​Borno State.

Boko Haram has been waging an insurgency in Nigeria for over 15 years, killing thousands and displacing millions from their homes.

Nigerian authorities continue to claim victory over the terrorist groups, but the problem continues to cause loss of lifes and properties almost every day.
