Kano Son Dr. Yakubu Wudil Makes World’s Top 2% Scientists List
Dr. Yakubu Sani Wudil, a brilliant son of Kano in Northern Nigeria has been listed among the world’s top 2% scientists in the prestigious Stanford University/Elsevier global ranking.
It was a moment of joy with immense pride for Kano, North and Nigeria as a whole to attain this remarkable achievement.
The postdoctoral researcher at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, expressed deep emotion and gratitude over this remarkable achievement, describing it as a collective victory.

“I am deeply honoured to be recognised among the world’s top 2% scientists. This recognition reflects the spirit of impactful research shared with my outstanding colleagues, mentors, and students,” Dr. Wudil said with visible pride.
Dr. Wudil is a northerner who has risen to global prominence, and whose research tackles some of humanity’s most pressing challenges in renewable and sustainable energy, advanced functional materials, energy storage, laser spectroscopy, and the innovative integration of density functional theory (DFT) simulations with machine learning.
Expressing his joy, he devoted the milestone to all those who supported his journey and pledged to work even harder for more achievements.

“I remain committed to pushing the frontiers of science and translating these innovations into real-world solutions that will benefit humanity,” he said.
