MURIC Accuses Tinubu’s Govt Of Religious Partiality
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has accused the Nigerian government under president Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of unfair bias, by showing preference between Muslims and Christians in the country.
MURIC made the call after receiving reports that the federal government has approved the construction of a N25 billion mosque at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the Nigeria’s capital.
In a statement sent to the BBC by MURIC, its chairman, Professor Ishaq Akintola, also expressed disappointment over the government’s decision to provide N2 billion to victims of the violence in Plateau State, while not doing the same in Sokoto, Borno, Kebbi and Zamfara states, which are also struggling with security challenges.

“The federal government should explain why this preference is being shown. Muslims in Nigeria do not deserve this…,” the statement said.
The group also called on the Nigerian government to allocate the same amount of N25 billion, as well as land for Muslims in the country to build a mosque at the airport.
The statement added: “This is our right. And it should be given to us.”
