Hajj 2026: Saudi Govt Deploys Over 52,000 Medical Personnel To Take care Of Pilgrims Amidst Extreme Heat

The Saudi Arabian government has announced the deployment of more than 52,000 medical personnel to protect pilgrims from the heat during the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, especially during the Arafat period.
The medical personnel have been deployed to various Hajj sites including Makkah, Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah, according to reports, to ensure the provision of emergency care and other health services to the millions of pilgrims expected to participate in this year’s Hajj.
The move comes as Saudi authorities have issued a warning about the extreme heat experienced at the Hajj sites, with temperatures reaching nearly 48 degrees Celsius in some areas.
Saudi authorities said the medical personnel deployed include doctors, nurses, heat stroke specialists and emergency responders who are ready to respond to any emergency.

Reports indicate that the Saudi government has also increased the number of health centers and ambulances and provided modern equipment to ensure the health of pilgrims at all stages of the Hajj.
In addition, a precautionary measures have been taken to reduce the effects of extreme heat, including expanding shaded areas, improving air conditioning systems in Mina tents and providing drinking water in various areas where pilgrims gather.
Health experts have warned that the elderly and those with other diseases are among those most at risk of complications from heat, so pilgrims are urged to take care of their health and follow the instructions of health officials during the Hajj pilgrimage.
